Zero Order Waveplates
CVI
Series QWPO & PWPS zero order waveplate
Series QWPO zero order waveplate provide retardation of single submultiple 2π in phase.
  • Retardation tolerance: λ/200- λ500 at 20°C
  • Damage thresholds: 1J/cm², 8ns pulse; 1MW/cm², CW at 1064nm typical
  • Typical Bandwidth: 100nm at 800nm
  • Substrate material: Crytal Quartz
  • MgF2 zero order waveplates available for wavelength below 213nm
The PWPS Polymer zero order waveplate is less sensitive to incidence angle than either multiple or compound zero-order quartz waveplates.
The birefringence of the polymer is nearly constant with wavelength.
Polymer waveplates are not recommended for application above 600mJ/cm² in visible range or above 4J/cm² in the near infrared.

  • Retardation : λ/4- λ2
  • Damage thresholds: 1J/cm², 8ns pulse; 1MW/cm², CW at 1064nm typical
  • Typical Bandwidth: 100nm at 800nm
  • Substrate material: Birefringent Polymer
  • Temperature dependance: 0.15nm / °C

Variable Wave Plates
New Focus
The performance of a Soleil-Babinet compensator at a much lower cost Variable zero-order retardance.
Ideal for removing arbitrary ellipticity in your experiment New Focus Berek's variable wave plates modify the polarisation of collimated beams from any other state with the flexibility, convenience and precision previously found only in bulky and expensive Soleil-Babinet compensators.
